Know the standard before you design
The rubric is your target — 8 dimensions that define what a quality course looks like at FTCC, across every delivery mode. Read it before you build, not after. Use it as a design guide, not just a checklist to complete at the end.
For each module, use STAGE to move learners through a connected arc: Set the Scene (activate and orient) → Transform (introduce and model) → Apply (practice and produce) → Gauge (formative check) → Evaluate (formal evidence). This directly supports Rubric dimensions 2 through 5 — objectives, content, RSI, and assessment alignment.
Before you finalize any graded task — quiz, discussion, essay, project, presentation — run it through QUEST. Does it have a clear purpose (Q)? Are expectations understandable (U)? Does it produce real evidence of learning (E)? Is the format right (S)? Is the thinking demand appropriate (T)? QUEST directly strengthens Rubric dimension 5 — assessment design.
Once the course is designed, use the Quality Dashboard to self-assess against all 8 rubric dimensions. Courses built with STAGE and QUEST will already address most indicators — the dashboard helps you see what still needs attention before your formal review.
